Are you ready for a story about how these two put together a GORGEOUS wedding in less than 24 hours?? Maria and Clay got engaged over the summer and had been planning an intimate, destination wedding in Italy for just the two of them in November. Maria bought a Monique Lhuillier dress from The Collection Bridal in Winter Park and sparkly Badgley Mischka heels, Clay picked out a handsome suit, they got all the details in order, and it was finally time to pack their bags for their big trip. On the way to the airport on Thursday, they got a call about a family emergency and had to immediately cancel their flights. They turned their car around and headed back home to be with their family. Fortunately, everything with their family turned out ok and even though they weren’t in Italy, they were still together. They decided that they still wanted to get married on Saturday. Maria and Clay started texting and calling people to try to arrange a ceremony for the next day. When Maria texted me and shared their story, my heart broke for them and I was so eager to help! I taught Kindergarten with Maria last school year and I knew that she deserved the wedding of her dreams. She is the sweetest!! When I arrived at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, I was so impressed with Maria and Jenna, the thoughtful on-site coordinators, who made sure everything was perfect for the ceremony. Maria transformed into a beautiful bride with the help of the on-site hair and makeup artist and carried a white rose bouquet crafted by a florist near her mom’s house. After searching online, they found a wonderful officiant to perform their ceremony. The details of their impromptu wedding came together quickly. These newlyweds may not have gotten married on the Almafi Coast but they did become husband and wife in the town that Maria grew up and in a private ceremony with just the two of them. It was perfect. I’m so honored to have photographed this special event and to have witnessed their wedding! So excited for you two and all that’s to come!!
