Last August, I started teaching at a new school and was warmly welcomed by my new team. One sweet teacher, with gorgeous blonde hair and the fullest eyelashes (seriously, if you know her, you’d agree), always greeted me with a huge smile! Tara was more than halfway through her pregnancy of her first child and still maintained her constant joy. đ I’m so glad I got to meet up with Tara, her husband Austin, and their little boy Bradley for his 9 month photos at Tampa Water Works Park! Such a sweet family!!
Chad and Alissa – Houston Engagement Photography
Over the weekend, David and I got to take a mini getaway to Texas to visit some family and friends! We got to see my sweet Aunt Kathy and my cousin Chad and his fiancee Alissa in Houston. I love when we are all able to get together!! Our family has had a really hard year. Actually, really hard is an understatement. But we’ve been able to grow closer through it and I’m so glad to see Chad so happy with his soon to be Bride. I loved being able to take these engagement photos for my cousin! We had to work around the rainy weather and the quick sunset but I think we got some great shots in our 10 minute mini session. đ Especially this first photo… that’s what hugs are all about!!
27 Weddings on my 27th Birthday
I love the number 27. I was born on August 27th, I turned 27 on Saturday (!!) and I just learned of another reason why it’s so special. David and I recently moved into our new house and while organizing our office, I flipped through the contracts from our past weddings. While flipping through, I looked at the names, the dates, the venues and thought about the special details and memories of each day. I counted the contracts, starting with Trezure and Seth and ended with Kristin and Zach, and smiled when I got to 27. Such a special number to me. To some people, 27 might seem like a low amount of weddings and I did think about that, but just for a second. Flipping through those contracts and thinking about our experiences, I am so proud of that number. David and I both work other full time jobs and we lived away from Florida for a year. We got to capture 27 first kisses, 27 gorgeous bridal gowns, 27 first dances, 27 unique cakes and it’s all been wonderful. Thank you to our 27 couples (+ many other clients!!!!) for inviting us along your journey. It’s been the best ride.

Paige, Aaron, and Golden Retriever Dash – Downtown Tampa
Do you remember Mike and Katy’s session with their new adorable puppy, Cooper? We got to explore the University of Tampa with their energetic, happy-as-can-be golden retriever puppy. Well, lucky me… I got to do it again!! This time, I met newlyweds Paige and Aaron and their puppy Dash! These two have been married a little over two months and they are adjusting to their new married life as puppy parents! Dash is not only adored by Paige and Aaron but by all of their friends and family, too. This was such a fun session. I’m hoping I can do more of these puppy sessions in the future!
Tiffany and Bryan – Downtown Tampa Engagement
It was such a pleasure meeting Tiffany and Bryan last weekend for their engagement photos! Thanks for the referral, Jessica and Mike! We explored the Tampa Riverwalk and found some gorgeous spots. The first few photos remind me of one of my favorite places, Portofino, Italy! I loved hearing about how they met and all about their upcoming wedding on Fripp Island in South Carolina. Best of luck wedding planning, you guys! You’re going to have such a beautiful day.
Jenna and Ben – Savannah Wormsloe Plantation Engagement
Over the weekend, David and I took a road trip to Savannah to visit our sweet friends Jenna and Ben. I met that beautiful blondie right before my freshman year of high school. Even though Jenna is a year older than me, she quickly took me in and introduced me to all of her friends. We had the best group of girlfriends. Countless sleepovers, late night laughs, working on the yearbook spreads way past deadline, growing as young Christians, and encouraging each other all along the way. A few years ago, when Jenna told me about a boy that she met at her friend’s wedding, I could tell that this was going to be special. Being matched in her friend’s wedding party turned out to be such a life changing event. These two got engaged last year and are preparing for their wedding this fall! While spending the weekend in their home, I got to sit back and observe their relationship. Jenna and Ben flow naturally and confidently together. They fit together seamlessly. They are so ready to become husband and wife and it makes my heart so happy to see Jenna so happy. Enjoy their engagement pictures in downtown Savannah and the gorgeous Wormsloe Plantation…those trees!!
Kristin and Zach – Carlouel Yacht Club, Clearwater Wedding
Kristin and Zach became husband and wife on Saturday at the beautiful Carlouel Yacht Club in Clearwater. You know those weddings where things go off schedule and it’s kinda stressful for everyone? Well, this was not one of those weddings!! Everything was so perfect! We were ahead of schedule most of the day, Kristin was so relaxed, all of the guests had a wonderful time, and the venue was everything we could have hoped for. Kristin and Zach, who met at the University of Florida’s TriGators triathlon club, currently live in Fort Collins, Colorado. Zach is an engineer at Anheuser-Busch and Kristin is a 1st grade teacher. Hmm, an engineer and an elementary teacher. Sounds familiar. đ We absolutely loved this day. We loved the intricate homemade origami centerpieces created by Zach’s uncle, the naked wedding cake with a tandem bike topper, the guests who turned the reception into such a party, and most of all, the love that surrounded these sweet newlyweds! Congratulations, Kristin and Zach. Have so much fun exploring California!

Michelle and Ben – St. Petersburg Destination Wedding
What’s better than a destination wedding to the beautiful St. Petersburg? Michelle and Ben and 40 of their closest friends and family traveled from Connecticut to sunny Florida for an intimate waterfront ceremony and a weeklong celebration of their marriage. Michelle and Ben first met through a mutual friend at a party seven years ago. There was an instant connection and these two have been together ever since! I loved being a part of this wedding. Everyone was so sweet and treated me like family! I hope you all enjoyed your vacation!

Katie and Phil – University of Tampa Engagement
I first met Katie (aka: Ms. Morphew to our little friends) in August 2013 when we started teaching Kindergarten together. Katie has such a calm, gentle, encouraging spirit and it is the perfect match for her hubby-to-be, Phil. I love their love story, especially what Phil said at the end of their first date! Katie told me “Two of our mutual friends worked together to set us up. One of our friends went into his workplace and showed him my picture! They were trying to convince me to go watch a softball game he was playing in but I didn’t know it was a set-up to meet Phil. Later, I got his phone number to tell him I wasn’t interested in dating but we talked for a bit on the phone and he convinced me to go out on a date. We haven’t been apart since! After our first date, he told the girl who set us up that he was going to marry me!” Phil was convinced from the very beginning! SO sweet!! These two fit perfectly together. Their smiles came effortlessly, their joy was contagious, and their love was evident. A few days ago, we explored the University of Tampa for their engagement session.
Can’t wait for their Lange Farm wedding in January!
Samantha and Adam – Powel Crosley Estate, Sarasota Wedding
Samantha and Adam met in the summer of 2013 and knew right away that their relationship was something special. After only a month of dating, Sam and Adam decided to take an adventurous trip together. Not just a road trip down the coast or a quick flight to another state… these two went across the world to to Asia! 24 hours on a plane and exploring a new country was either going to make or break their relationship and not surprisingly once you meet this couple, they only grew closer! A little over a year later, Adam proposed to Samantha in front of the Golden Gate Bridge on another one of their adventures. On Friday, these two had their biggest adventure yet. Along with their closest friends and family, Sam and Adam became husband and wife at the gorgeous Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota. They had an emotional First Look, crafted special Harry Potter details into their day, guests tossed lavender after their First Kiss, passed around plates family style at dinner, and danced all night under the twinkling stars. Everything was beautiful and filled with joy. Enjoy their special day!
