I have to admit that I married into such a loving, kind, and accepting family. My in-laws are the best! Tim and Jan are parents to Katie, David, Emily, and Hannah. Katie and her husband, Nic, got married in June 2009 and now live in Wisconsin. We miss them so much! Fortunately, they flew to Orlando in mid-January for a late Christmas celebration. While they were in town, we had the whole family together and took the opportunity to take some family pictures at Blanchard Park.
Megan and Doug – Orlando Engagement
Despite the gloomy weather, this engagement session was perfect. Megan and Doug are young, gorgeous, and so in love! They had so much fun together and were constantly laughing with each other. Megan is a elementary-school teacher and Doug is an engineer in Orlando. In August, you can find these two tying the knot with their closest friends…. in Vegas!! They are going to have FUN! Enjoy their engagement pictures taken in Avalon Park.
Carissa – Orlando Expecting Portraits
This beautiful lady is my older sister, Carissa. The adorable little one is my niece, Faith. Carissa is expecting baby #2 in early March. We spent a Friday afternoon capturing her growing belly and our growing family. If you can’t tell from the pink clothes, baby #2 is going to be a GIRL! A sweet new baby girl to join our family and a new baby sister for Faith. We are all so excited to meet her in just a few weeks!! I can’t wait to take some newborn pictures of her! Enjoy these pictures of Carissa.
Kara and John- Jack Daniels Fort Myers Wedding
If you could rewind time back to 2003, you’d find two best friends taking on the journey of high school together, staying up late at sleepovers, and exchanging notes between class. Kara and I met and instantly became close friends over ten years ago. We have so many great memories together, it is so fun to think back on! Sweet Kara moved away from Orlando to Fort Myers after high school to attend FGCU. She loved it so much that she became a permanent resident after graduation. Fortunately, Kara met her soul mate in her new home. Kara and John met in one of their classes at FGCU and instantly clicked. Their love story continued and eventually led to a proposal, months of planning, and a gorgeous wedding on January 5th. I was able to attend this wedding as a guest but Kara asked if I could bring my camera along to snap a couple detail shots of their reception. I happily agreed and am excited to show you some of Kara and John’s wedding details! Their theme was Jack Daniels and the dress was casual… the groom + groomsmen wore jeans and boots! Love it!!
Wedding Anniversary: Paige and Tim – St. Augustine
The Contemporary Resort at Disney holds some very special memories for David and I. We went there on a quadruple date back in high school to watch the fireworks, we had our first kiss on the balcony of the hotel overlooking the Disney castle, and we said our first “I love you”s right before getting engaged at this unique hotel. Neither of us are huge Disney fans but this specific location holds a special place in our heart. For my dear friends, Paige and Tim, their special place is St. Augustine, Florida.
If you’ve ever been to St. Augustine, you know it’s a unique and special little city. It has lots of history but still feels intimate. Paige and Tim have many special memories in this nearby city, but most importantly, this is the place where Tim slipped a shiny ring on Paige’s finger and they excitedly agreed to become husband and wife. Paige and Tim got married on 11-11-11 and had an awesome wedding. Almost one year later, Paige called me and asked if I’d be interested in taking anniversary pictures at their special, favorite place. I loved the idea and on 11-11-12, David and I spent the day capturing the love between this special couple. Paige rocked her wedding dress again and Tim was beaming with joy, just as he was on their wedding day. We ended the session with some casual shots at Flagler College. I loved this session and I love this couple even more!!
A Look Back at Our 2012
Can you believe that today is the last day of 2012? This year went by so quickly! As I laid in bed this morning, I reflected on the many goals that I accomplished and wonderful experiences that I had during this year. I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite memories of 2012. This is a personal post, so here’s a chance for you to get to know me a little better!
1. My 2012 New Year’s Resolution was to train and complete a 5K race. My husband and I were both determined to complete this goal together. We ran, encouraged, and pushed each other along the way. I never considered myself a runner, so the thought of continuously running 3.1 miles was daunting. The picture on the left was before our first run in January and the picture on the right was the final stretch of the 5K race that we completed in March. I watched my body get stronger and healthier over those 3 months. It was the best feeling to complete this goal!
Eaton Family – Gainesville Family Photography
Meet the Eaton family: Fletcher, Susan, Mary Grace, Brock, and Bethany! I have the privilege of spending lots of time with the beautiful Mom of this family because we are both Kindergarten teachers together! This family is so fun, so loving, and kind to each other. It was such a joy to capture these images in Mcintosh, Florida….despite the crazy mosquitoes! I think I counted at least 30 bites on my arms and legs after this session, but it was worth it!
A Look Back at 2012 Sessions!
2012 was such a fabulous year! My photography business grew so much and I got to meet so many wonderful new people. As the year comes to a close, I wanted to look back at the many sessions I had this year and show you some of my favorite images. These photos represent real and honest love, happiness, and families. One of the best things about my job is providing you, my clients, with tangible memories, whether that be at your wedding, your newborn’s first week, or your favorite spots on your college campus. I love to capture your favorite moments so that you can cherish them for a lifetime! Enjoy some of my most loved images and memories from 2012. I can’t wait to see what 2013 brings!
Almost Married: Rachel and Nick Wedding Rehearsal – Cocoa Beach Photography
Back in August, I had the privilege of documenting Rachel and Nick’s wedding rehearsal in Cocoa Beach. All of their family and closest friends gathered the evening before their wedding to rehearse, eat, and spend quality time together. Rachel asked me to come early to take photos of her family since they were all finally gathered in one place. Everyone was so sweet and loving! It was such a joyful night celebrating Rachel and Nick… now, they are Mr. and Mrs. Mangan! Enjoy these photos!
Trezure and Seth- Laytn’s Land-n Yulee Wedding
A little over a month ago, these lovebirds tied the knot at the Hobson Auditorium at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. It was such a joy to be present at this wedding and an honor to capture Trezure and Seth’s most important day. Our day started at the church with the girls getting ready in the Bride’s room and the guys on the other side of the building in the Groom’s room. Both rooms were filled with anticipation, laughter, love, and excitement. The day continued to get better during the First Look as Seth saw his beautiful bride for the first time. I LOVE First Looks! It is such a special, intimate moment between the bride and the groom. A quiet moment to just be with each other and really take in the magnitude of what’s about to happen. Then, we ventured around downtown Jacksonville to capture the gorgeous bridal party. Trezure’s girls and Seth’s guys were so much fun to shoot. Lots of smiles, laughs, and jokes were shared. The ceremony time was drawing near, so we ended with some bride and groom photos. One of Trezure’s photo requests was her and Seth under her veil. The reception took place right on the Florida/Georgia border in Yulee, Florida at an adorable barn-style reception at Laytn’s Land-n. All of the creative details were handmade by Trezure and her mom, April. The DJ services were provided by my friend, Nathan, of DUO 58. Nathan was the DJ at my wedding, too! Small world. Enjoy these fun pictures from Trezure and Seth’s perfect day!
